St James - a happy, healthy community?

Sport England Local Delivery Pilot House to House Survey - Information from Exeter City Council

RE: Sport England Local Delivery Pilot: Active Lives Survey – Exeter and Cranbrook – February & March 2019

Over the next four weeks we have asked Marketing Means, a Devon based research agency to undertake a survey of Exeter & Cranbrook resident’s physical activity levels and wellbeing. The survey is being conducted as part of the ‘Sport England Local Delivery Pilot. Exeter & Cranbrook have together been selected by Sport England as one of twelve areas awarded funds to help them work ‘for happier, healthier communities and discover a blueprint for tackling inactivity locally’.

The local interviewer team will be calling at a selection of addresses across Exeter and Cranbrook between 26th February and 31st March. Residents will be invited to take part by completing a short questionnaire covering aspects of physical activity, physical and mental wellbeing, and household circumstances. The questionnaire can be completed either face-to-face with the interviewer, on paper using a copy of the questionnaire given to them together with a reply-paid envelope, or online by accessing a unique web-link.

All responses, via whichever method, will remain completely confidential and anonymous, unless residents give their consent to be identified. We hope that this mix of methods will give us around 2,000 responses to the survey.
The results will provide a baseline set of data against which we can measure future progress across Exeter and Cranbrook as we implement the ‘Exeter Live Better’ plan.
Marketing Means are members of the Market Research Society. All interviewers will carry ID, a copy of the attached letter and a copy of the MRS code of conduct.
